Gray Ghost – Detroit, Michigan

Located in Downtown Detroit you will find Gray Ghost.

I’ve never heard of it before until my sister made a resveratiomn when she was in town in the beginning of October.

When we got our menus the waitress told us they change up their menu a couple times a year so that the ingredients are the freshest but they still have some dishes that are year round.

They serve their dishes Tapas style which is small dishes that you can share with the family or friends or just you.

As I reading some of the items I wasn’t so sure if I’d like it but I did try it and I ended up liking all but one dish. Keep reading to find out.

We also ordered some cocktails that sounded yummy. I got the betty white which had bourbon, fino, pineau des charentes, golden raisin, golden milk, pineapple, allspice, and angostura. It was yummy.

The first to come up was The scallion pancake which had bok choy, hoisin aioli. daikon radish. and cilantro.

Then came the brussel sprouts which had honey, lime, and chicken skin. This was one of my favorites.

Next up was the cauliflower it had curry, acorn squash, blueberry, and chutney. Another one of my favorites.

After that came the fried bologna which came with a  potato waffle, cream cheese, and a jalapeño. This was so good.

Next was the ravioli it had a mushroom bolognese sauce. Inside had ricotta cheese and topped with parmesan cheese. This was good but my least favorite.

Then came the sea scallops which had fingerling potato with a n ancho chile and peanut sauce, topped with creme fraiche.

Then came out the hunter’s sausage which had pretzel spaetzle, rutabaga kraut, and mustard. This was the only thing I did not care for. I did like the pretzel spaetzle.

I didn’t think I’d like what was ordered so I ordered the cheeseburger. Which was delicious.

Last but not least we got desert

A little extra. Since it was my dad’s birthday they sent out these cookies. Which were very good. It came with four. One was taken before I took this photo.

Would I come back, absolutely. Next time I won’t be so judgmental just because I didn’t like what I read.

I will definitely try their other restaurants Second Best, which is right across from Gray Ghost and their new one called Basan.
