I have been to Coopers Hawk many times. So it’s safe to tell you it’s become one of my favorite places to dine at and not to mention their many wine selections are one of my favorites.
I’m going to break it down into parts from the many times I’ve been here. From the appetizers to what dishes I had.
First Visit
We were waiting to be seated. So my sister and I had a wine tasting. We both had a tower which was 4 different kinds. I had the whites which were on the sweeter side and she had the reds.
Before my sister joined the wine club we had a tasting of 4 different wine selections. She had the reds that were less sweet and I had whites that were on the sweeter side. I highly recommended giving a tasting a try.
When it was time for us to get seated the hotness asked us if we had been here. We said no so she proceed to welcome us and told us that we could get a free tasting of what was in the barrel. So we did. You could do this every time you come.
I love that they bring out warm pretzel bread.
We sat down and the waiter asked us if we would like to order an appetizer. The waiter suggested we try the over the border egg rolls which was a favorite by many and when I tried them I knew why. It is a House-Made with Southwest Chicken, Corn, Black Beans, Cilantro, and Cheese; Tomatillo Salsa, Cilantro Ranch, and Cashew Dipping Sauces. They give you three sauces they give you are good buy my favorite one of the three is the Cilantro Ranch. This dish in not spicy at all.
Along with the Egg Rolls we also ordered the chicken potstickers. These come with a Sweet and Spicy Mustard, Ginger Soy Sauce.
On another visit we ordered the bruschetta. This is a classic tomato bruschetta Burrata, Basil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Balsamic Glaze and let me tell you It was good.
If you are going to start with an appetizer I’d suggest getting any of them. You will not be disappointed.
Main Dish
The first dish I ordered was the Gnocchi Carbonara. It comes with Pancetta, Chicken, Sage, Peas, in a Parmesan Garlic Cream Sauce. I also let my family try this and they all loved it.
Another time I came here I wanted to try something different so I ordered the country rigatoni. It came with Italian Sausage, Mushroom, Chicken, Roasted Grape Tomatoes, Herbs, Tomato Garlic Cream Sauce
keaton’s spaghetti & house-made meatballs. Even though this a good dish I wouldn’t get it again.
Another dish I ordered was Dana’s parmesan-crusted chicken. It comes with a Tomato Basil Relish, Lemon Butter, Betty’s Potatoes, Garlic Green Beans. I ordered this dish with the tomato basil relish on the side instead of on top of the chicken. Alongside the Gonnoci this is another favorite dish of mine that I get.
The next visit I wanted to try something new I ordered the trio of medallions. These had Horseradish, Bleu Cheese, and Parmesan-Crusted Filet Medallions, and they came with Mary’s Potatoes and Asparagus. These were good but I’m not a fan of horseradish.
On my recent visit, I ordered another dish I never tried. I tried the cilantro ranch chicken sandwich It came with Melted Cheddar, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Smashed Avocado, Cilantro Ranch on the side, and Seasoned Mayo.
On to the wine selection. The wine selection is excellent but that will be a separate review.
The Wine Club
They have a wine club if you are into that. My sister and I are on the same account. Since she is all the way in California and I am here. I pick up one of their monthly selections. I save it for her when she comes. With the wine club, each person on the account will get a discount with each bottle you purchase.
What I recommend
Everything I’ve mentioned is worth getting. From the Appetizers to the main entree. I have put them on my Recommend List that you can check out here.
Overall
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing wines, food and service. Staff are extremely professional, and knowledgeable and make great recommendations. When you come here you will not be disappointed.
